Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, says his ministry has begun fulfilling its promise to create a more enabling environment for Ghana’s creative community through strategic partnerships with global technology platforms.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 15, Sam George described the initiative as part of efforts to harness digital tools for national development and empower local creators to thrive in the digital economy.
According to him, the ministry held a successful engagement with representatives of TikTok to explore ways of supporting Ghanaian creatives and enhancing their productivity through digital collaboration.
“Yesterday was a very successful day in my service as Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations. We saw the fulfilment of a promise to create a more enabling environment for creatives in Ghana by using the agency of government to collaborate with big tech platforms,” he wrote.
“We successfully held an engagement with TikTok to empower our creative community and put tools for greater productivity at their disposal.”
Mr. George expressed gratitude to TikTok, the Ghana Digital Centre Ltd, and the New Media Association of Ghana for their partnership in advancing Ghana’s digital innovation agenda.
“I am grateful to our partners at TikTok, the Ghana Digital Centre Ltd and the New Media Association of Ghana. Together, we would achieve great success,” he added.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the creative and digital sectors, describing such collaborations as essential to building a modern, inclusive economy driven by innovation.
