Police arrest six suspected kidnappers, rescue three victims in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three men who were abducted in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the police received a distress call on September 29, 2025, from a community member in Euga village who reported that unidentified gunmen had kidnapped three residents. The victims were identified as Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal.
The statement revealed a combined team from the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, and Nabordo Division, working with local security groups, launched a coordinated rescue operation.“The team tracked the suspects to the outskirts of the village and engaged them in a professional operation that led to the safe and unharmed rescue of the victims,”.
Six suspects were arrested during the operation including Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.
The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families in good health, while investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the abduction.
“The suspects are providing useful information and will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for further investigation before being charged to court.” The statement said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the swift response of the operatives and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
