Otti approves permanent secretariat for NLC after Ajaero’s visit

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has approved a land for the building of permanent Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC Secretariat in Abia State.
He also directed investigation into the report that statutory 10% check off dues deducted from Abia civil servants does not get to NLC national body.
Otti who said this on Wednesday, when he received a delegation of the NLC national body led by its President, Joe Ajaero, at his office, informed the NLC President that his administration is worker friendly, noting that 5,394 teachers were employed by his administration with recruitment of 771 health workers also ongoing.
He told the NLC President that payment of financial benefits to the next-of-kins of deceased Abia civil servants spanning 16 past years, have been approved by his administration.
Earlier in his speech , the NLC PresidentJoe Ajero appealed to the Governor for donation of land for the building of a befitting secretariat for Abia NLC, and provision of operational vehicle for the NLC in the State.
The NLC President who commended the Governor on his infrastructural development and cordial labour relationship, called on Abia State branch of NLC to directly remit statutory 10% monthly check off dues to the NLC national headquarters.
