Nigeria vs Gabon: Aubameyang sends warning to Super Eagles ahead of 2026 WCQ playoffs

Gabon striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has warned Nigeria that he will do all that he can, to ensure his country qualifies for the 2026 World Cup.

Both countries are billed to face each other in the African playoffs semi-final on November 13.

Aubameyang helped Gabon finish runners-up in Group F behind Cote d’Ivoire, while the Super Eagles thrashed Benin Republic 4-0 to book their spot.

The winner of the African playoffs will head to Mexico in March 2026 for the Intercontinental playoffs involving six teams, from which only two teams will qualify for the 2026 World Cup proper.

“We want to go to the World Cup and, to get there, we have to win games,” Aubameyang told The Standard.

“I’m very motivated, and when you have the chance to go to the World Cup, you have to be even more motivated.”
