Kefas reaffirms commitment to youth development, sports empowerment in Taraba

Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has restated his administration’s commitment to youth development and empowerment, describing it as a strategic foundation for the state’s growth and progress.
He made the remark on Wednesday, during a swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed members of the state sports commission, held at the EXCO Chamber, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.
Emphasizing the crucial role of young people in shaping Taraba’s future, Kefas noted that, “I have particular interest in the development and empowerment of our youths.”
“Our aim is to mentor the young ones coming behind us because we believe that our youths are very responsible,” Kefas said.
He described the initiative as both timely and essential, noting that it will accelerate youth empowerment and foster a healthier and more productive society.
The Governor also highlighted the return of Coach Bulus to the state’s sports sector, calling it “a divine arrangement” that will help strengthen sports development and provide opportunities for young talents.
Governor Kefas further revealed plans to channel substantial investments into the newly established youth agency, which he believes will serve as the coordinating body for all youth-related programs in the state.
He urged young people to live up to the confidence reposed in them and contribute meaningfully to community and state development.
The Governor also commended the people of Yangtu for their cooperation with government policies, commending their unity and respect for democratic processes.
In a message to newly appointed officials, he reminded them of the responsibilities attached to their positions. “To whom much is given, much is expected,” he stated.
He called on citizens to remain close to their leaders and seize opportunities for collective progress, stressing the importance of preserving the sacrifices of past leaders and forefathers.
