The development was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

According to the statement, the suspects Michael Jatau, 39, and Haruna Aliyu Muhammad, 21 were arrested on October 13, 2025, at about 11:25 a.m. by operatives of the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) while in possession of a 2012 Toyota Corolla, dark ash in colour, with registration number KRD-13-FW.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects snatched the vehicle in Abuja and brought it to Kano with the intent to sell it,” the statement said.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the officers for their diligence and professionalism and appreciated the public for their continued cooperation under the Command’s community-based security initiative, Operation Kukan Kura.
