Tony Dath calls for investor support, says music business still profitable with the right management

Ghanaian musician Tony Dath is calling on investors to take another look at the music industry, insisting that the sector remains a lucrative venture for those who approach it with structure and trust.

Speaking in an interview with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz 103.9 FM, the artiste made a passionate appeal for financial backing to help him expand his craft and impact.

“I need investors for myself; music is a lucrative business. It’s just that some artists have been ungrateful to those who believed in them, and that makes investors lose trust in us,” he said.

Tony Dath noted that while many investors have become wary due to bad experiences with certain musicians, the potential for success in Ghana’s creative industry remains strong.

He urged financiers to look beyond isolated cases of betrayal and instead focus on long-term partnerships that can yield mutual growth.

He also highlighted the importance of transparency, discipline, and gratitude as values that can restore investor confidence and attract new funding to Ghana’s music ecosystem.

“Music is still one of the most rewarding industries when managed well. All we need is the right collaboration between artists and investors to unlock that value,” he added.

Tony Dath joins a growing number of creatives advocating for stronger business-minded approaches in Ghana’s entertainment scene, as the industry continues to evolve into a more structured and global-facing market.
