Rashad Uncovers Inconsistencies In Akosua Serwaa’s Claims Over Daddy Lumba’s Funeral Date
Award-winning entertainment journalist and blogger, Rashad, has argued about the authenticity of claims made by Akosua Serwaa regarding her statement that she wasn’t aware of the scheduled funeral date for Daddy Lumba.
The controversy began after Akosua Serwaa and her family filed for an injunction to halt Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites, which have been officially scheduled for December 6, 2025.
In a writ of summons that widely circulates on social media, Akosua Serwaa appealed to the court to declare her the sole surviving widow of the late highlife icon.
She further requested legal action to prevent Odo Broni, from presenting herself as his widow.
In the same legal document, Daddy Lumba’s Abusuapanin, Agya Owusu, was also summoned for his role in organizing and scheduling the funeral without what Akosua Serwaa describes as “proper consultation.”
However, Rashad, host of the popular Rash Hour Show on GHPage has rubbished Akosua Serwaa’s claims by pointing to a compelling insider information.
According to Rashad, trusted representatives of Akosua Serwaa were actively involved in the funeral planning process and were fully aware of the date and arrangements from the onset.
The three individuals named by Rashad are:
Papa Shee (Musician and evangelist) Kenpong (Renowned businessman and close associate) Boah Ayisi (Akosua Serwaa’s biological brother).
Rashad revealed that these three individuals were physically present at several key deliberations, including the high-profile visit to the Flagstaff House, where Daddy Lumba’s family formally announced the funeral arrangements to the presidency.
The delegation was received by senior presidential staffer Nana Jantuah and other government officials.
“It’s quite baffling that Akosua Serwaa would claim she wasn’t aware of the funeral date when her own brother, along with two trusted associates, were at the Flagstaff House and took part in the deliberations,” Rashad stated during his show.
As it stands, it remains to be seen how the courts will adjudicate the matter, particularly on the issue of who holds the rightful status as Daddy Lumba’s widow — a decision that could impact both the funeral rites and inheritance proceedings.
Meanwhile, fans of Daddy Lumba continue to mourn the loss of the highlife maestro, calling for unity among his surviving relatives and respect for his legacy.
