Panic as abducted female police officer found dead in Kwara

Oloje-Ogidi area in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, was thrown into panic on Friday following the discovery of the lifeless body of a female police officer attached to the Ogidi Police Division.

The police officer was reportedly abducted by unidentified assailants on Thursday.

The officer was a Woman Inspector (W/INSPR) and prosecutor in the division.

Her remains were discovered on Friday morning, according to credible police sources.

Sources disclosed that the officer was abducted and killed in the Oloje area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Her lifeless body was reportedly found in a bush, indicating that she may have been murdered shortly after her abduction.

Details surrounding her kidnap and killing remained sketchy at the time of this report.

The development has heightened tension within the Oloje and Ogidi communities, as residents express fear over rising insecurity, just as the government, security forces and local vigilantes are engaged in the cleansing of criminals in Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts of the state.

Kwara State has recently witnessed a surge in kidnappings, killings, and bandit attacks, which forced several residents to flee their ancestral homes for safer areas.

Efforts by DAILY POST to reach the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Saturday, proved abortive as phone calls and text messages sent to her were not answered.
