2027: Southern Kaduna coalition urges Senator Katung, Amos to join APC

A coalition of political support groups in Southern Kaduna has called on Senator Sunday Katung (PDP–Kaduna South) and Dan Amos, member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, to defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in order to attract greater federal presence to the region.
The appeal was made on Saturday in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, during a meeting between the lawmakers and the coalition, led by Samson Maikano.
Maikano, who presented a memorandum of understanding to the lawmakers, said the move was aimed at ensuring stronger political synergy between Southern Kaduna and the Federal Government.
He said the region had suffered neglect due to political isolation and would benefit more from aligning with the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We just delivered our MoU to the Senator and the House member, urging them to join the ruling APC for better access to the centre. This will make it easier to attract federal projects and development to our communities,” Maikano stated.
He noted that political cooperation between Southern Kaduna and the party in power had, in the past, translated into infrastructural and social development.
“These are clear signs that if Southern Kaduna supports Tinubu in 2027, the region will benefit even more,” he said.
He, however, assured the lawmakers of the group’s continued support, regardless of their political decision.
