Dambai Market to operate 24-hour economy to boost local trade

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Krachi East Municipal Assembly in the Oti Region, Safo Nketia, has announced that the Dambai Market will operate a 24-hour economy, effective immediately.

The initiative aims to boost local trade, create jobs, and improve living standards in the area.

Mr Nketia told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the 24-hour market would serve as a self-contained facility, offering a range of amenities beyond traditional market stalls.

He said the market would include recreational centres, restaurants, and other facilities to create a vibrant and dynamic hub for commerce and leisure.

The MCE explained that although Mondays and Tuesdays would remain the main market days, the new 24-hour system would ensure continuous operation, giving traders and customers access to the market throughout the week.

The initiative is expected to stimulate economic activity, attract more traders and customers, and enhance the overall business environment in Dambai.

Mr. Nketia expressed optimism that the 24-hour economy would transform the local market into a thriving and sustainable commercial centre that benefits the entire community.
