The Ogun State Government through the Environmental Protection Agency, OGEPA, has sealed four industries for alleged violation of the state environmental laws.
The industries are Aristocrate Industries Limited, Plenco Industries Limited, Nanfang Industrial Limited and Xinphang Plastic Limited, all in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on OGEPA, Farouk Akintunde made this known on Tuesday, during an interview section with newsmen in his office at Abeokuta.
Akintunde disclosed that, Nanfang Industrial Limited and Plenco Industries Limited were sealed for not installing an effluence treatment plant in their factory, resulting to discharge of untreated water into the environment.
He stated that Xinphang Plastic Limited which was into recycling of plastic and Aristocrate Industries Limited, which was into the production of flexible package, refused to obtain relevant government approval which are in line with their operation and denied government officials access to their facilities respectively.
The OGEPA Boss, however, expressed displeasure over the non-compliance status of these facilities, warning that the trend was unhealthy for the health of the citizens and the environment.
