Cooking gas price stable at N1,200 per kg

The price of liquefied petroleum gas, known as cooking gas, has remained stable at N1,200 per litre in the Federal Capital Territory.
DAILY POST correspondent in a market survey on Monday gathered that LPG vendors in Abuja sell the product between N1,200 and N1,500 per litre depending on the location.
According to a vendor in Gwarimpa, Uche Chinedu, a 12.5-kilogramme cylinder of LPG is sold at N15,000.
“We sell at N1,200 per litre, which is N15,000 for 12.5 kg; at filling stations it goes for N1,090 per litre,” he told DAILY POST.
In Dawaki, Dutse and Kubwa, DAILY POST reports that the price of LPG stood at between N1,200 and N1,400.
However, an LPG vendor at Lugbe told DAILY POST that one kg of cooking gas is sold at N1,500.
This comes amid a price hike in parts of Lagos.
There are reports that the price of LPG rose to between N1,700 and N2,000 in parts of Lagos.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Bayo Ojulari, on Monday attributed the spike in the price of LPG to supply disruption caused by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Dangote Refinery feud last week.
According to him, the hike in LPG price is ‘artificial’.
He, however, assured that LPG prices will normalise amid sufficient supply of the product nationwide.
