Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has sponsored over 30 youths from different parts of the state on a five-year empowerment program in Europe.
The Governor’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Asorta James disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday.
According to the post, the beneficiaries, whom he claimed are from a poor background, departed Benue for Belarus, Europe on Sunday.
He wrote, “The Benue youths you see below are from very poor backgrounds, with no “surnames.” Most of them are from the IDP camps in Benue State.
“They departed yesterday for Belarus, Europe, on a five-year empowerment program fully sponsored by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia”.
The state has been facing security crises, disabling citizens who are predominantly farmers.
The security issues being allegedly perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen have sacked millions of residents from their ancestral homes.
