Tinubu hails Michael Okpara legacy, commissions Otti’s project in Umuahia

President Bola Tinubu has extolled the legacies of former Premier of old Eastern region, late Michael Okpara, saying he was a great leader who integrated his people to the centre.

The President stated this on Friday in Umuahia while commissioning the Michael Okpara auditorium, retrofitted by Governor Alex Otti.

Tinubu who was represented by the Minister of Works, David Umahi, said that Okpara was a great leader whose leadership benefitted his people.

He urged South Easterners to emulate the former Premier in the type of politics he played.

” Am happy that he is being honored today by the reason of this edifice being renovated and to be used in his name”, he said.

Earlier in his speech, Governor Alex Otti said that his administration met the Michael Okpara auditorium in a dilapidated condition when he took over power, before renovating it.
