2025 U-20 W/Cup: Flying Eagles must start on positive note – Zubairu

Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu, has said it is important for his team to begin their campaign at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on a winning note.
The seven-time African champions will face Norway in their opening fixture in the city of Talca on Monday (today).
It will be the first-ever meeting between both countries at this level.
Zubairu believes a win will boost his players’ confidence ahead of subsequent fixtures in the competition.
“We are very much prepared. In every competition, the first match is very, very important because if you can get the first match right, it’s going to give you more focus, raise the confidence level of the boys, and strengthen our footing in the competition,” he told the team’s media.
Saudi Arabia and Colombia are the other teams in the group.
The Flying Eagles were eliminated in the quarter-finals at the last edition of the competition hosted by Argentina.
