My son is innocent – Mustapha’s mother speaks

Mustapha Suleiman, the young man who was mercilessly beaten during the funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, is alive, contrary to earlier rumours of his death.

In an exclusive interview with GhPage, Mustapha’s mother refuted the claims about her son’s death and described him as innocent, introverted, and kind-hearted.

According to her, Mustapha has always been a generous young man, but has been exhibiting unusual behaviour for some time now.

She believes her son is spiritually possessed, which may explain his recent conduct.

Prior to the interview, a medical report from the Asuofua Polyclinic in the Ashanti Region confirmed that Mustapha Suleiman is battling a mental health condition.Buy vitamins and supplements

According to the report signed by Yayra Kwame Amengor of the clinic’s psychiatric unit, Mr. Suleiman, 29, was diagnosed with a mental and behavioural disorder linked to multiple substance abuse.

The report said he first visited the facility on 13 September 2024 and last reported on 22 August 2025. He is currently on monthly antipsychotic injections and tablets but is experiencing a relapse.

The medical officer recommended that the authorities take Mr. Suleiman’s condition into account and support him with the treatment he needs.
