Kaduna: Uba Sani committed to training – Head of Service

The Head of Service, Mrs Jummai Bako, has commended Governor Uba for supporting and strengthening Kaduna State civil service through training and capacity building since he assumed office.

Mrs Bako enjoined civil servants to be dedicated to their job by maintaining good work ethics, given the training that they have been receiving since the present administration came on board.

The Head of Service made these remarks after inspecting Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, where civil servants who are seeking confirmation of appointment are undergoing examinations, after the statutory two-year probationary period.

Bako, who expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the CBT examinations, explained that the exercise is crucial for the confirmation of civil servants in the state’s workforce.

“The purpose of us being here today is to inspect the civil service examination, which will ensure the confirmation of the appointment of civil servants who have been on the two-year probation.

“I am impressed by what I have seen so far. From the turnout to the manner in which the exams are being conducted. For those experiencing little challenges, the invigilators are on ground to attend to them promptly.

‘’From 9:00am till now, the first batch has completed its exams, the second batch is ongoing, and the third is lining up. From the look of things, the process is going on just fine.

“My appreciation goes to His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, for what he has done to better the civil service, for the funds provided for this exercise and his immense support and dedication, which have further ensured job security for the civil servants of Kaduna State,’’ she added.

The Head of Service called on civil servants ‘’to be dedicated to their job and maintain good work ethics. Just as His Excellency has been helping us in training them, we are equally expecting to see improvement.’’

The exercise is expected to span three days, where 5,000 candidates will be sitting for the test across all cadres of the civil service. Zone 2 has the highest number of participants with 3,000 candidates, while Zones 1 and 3 have 1,000 candidates each.

The examinations are being held across three designated centres, including Kaduna State University (main campus) for Zone 2, Federal College of Education, Zaria for Zone 1, and Kaduna State University’s Kafanchan campus for Zone 3.
