‘Lamine is the best’ – Yamal’s father hits out at Ballon d’Or

Mounir Nasraoui, father of Lamine Yamal, has hit out at Ousmane Dembele’s triumph at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.
Nasraoui maintained that Yamal is ‘the best footballer in the world by far’.
France Football, organisers of the award, named France international Dembele as the winner on Monday.
To claim the prize, Dembele helped PSG to secure several trophies last season, including the Champions League.
Yamal, 18, was named the second-best player in the world, while midfielder Vitinha occupied third place.
The Spain international, currently in only his second full season in senior football, scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in all competitions to help Barcelona win La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.
Nasraoui believes his son was robbed, telling Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, “He [Yamal] is the greatest. I’m not going to say theft, but rather moral damage to a human being.
“Lamine Yamal is the best player in the world by far. It’s not just because he’s my son, but because he’s the best player in the world.
“Lamine is Lamine. We have to say that something strange has happened here. Next year it’s ours. Next year the Ballon d’Or will be Spanish.”
