Family member provides details on abduction of Plateau lawmaker

More details have emerged following the abduction of the lawmaker representing Pankshin South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Denty Laven Jacob.
DAILY POST reported that Jacob was abducted on Monday by unknown gunmen from his home at Dong area, a community in the Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
The area has now become a hotbed of kidnapers and other criminal elements.
Though the government, the police and other security agencies in the state have not released any statement, a family member, who spoke to DAILY POST on the condition of anonymity on Tuesday morning, said Jacob was abducted when he came home from an outing with some friends.
The family member said the kidnappers must have trailed the lawmaker right from the venue of his outing with his friends.
“As we speak, the abductors of Hon. Denty Laven Jacob have not reached out to the family to make any ransom demand and we do not know anything about his condition at the moment.
“We suspect he was trailed from where he had gone to hang out with his friends because immediately the gateman opened the gate for him to drive in, the gunmen emerged from their vehicle and whisked him away.
“Dong is becoming quite dangerous these days. Just last week, a popular social media food vendor and her brother who is a corps member were kidnapped in the same Dong and were only released after their family reportedly paid ransom.
“This shocking incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity that has plagued Plateau State in recent months,” the family member said.
