Chief Imam of Owo dies at 91

The Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas, Ahmad Aladesawe, has died at the age of 91.
Kamorudeen Ishola, a Muslim leader in Owo, told reporters on Tuesday that the Imam passed away on Monday evening at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo, Ondo State.
Ishola described the Imam as a respected Islamic scholar and community leader who devoted his life to the growth of Islam in the country.
He stated that the Imam would be laid to rest in his hometown, Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
“May Allah accept his good deeds, forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Fridaus. Aaameen,” Yusuf said.
According to News Agency of Nigeria reports, Sheikh Aladesawe, before his passing, served as the Secretary General of Imams and Alfas in South West, Edo and Delta States.
Aladesawe was highly respected for his role in promoting the growth of Islam and fostering peace within Ondo State and beyond.
Prayers have been made for Allah to grant his soul eternal peace in Aljana Fridaos.
