7 hospitalised after trucks’ collission, fire in Ogbomoso


No fever than seven people have been hospitalised as a result of injuries they sustained during an accident in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The residents sustained the injuries following an accident involving two trucks.

DAILY POST gathered that the two trucks caught fire after a head on collision, at Arinkinkin, Agric area in Ogbomoso.

One of the trucks was reportedly loaded with grains while the other one was loaded with unidentified chemicals.

The injured are currently receiving treatmen at the Bowen Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

Chairman, Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande when contacted confirmed the incident.

Akinwande in a statement, on Tuesday noted that vehicular movement has been restored back on the road while daily activities have also resumed in the axis.

He said, “The fire incident was reported at exactly 13:15hrs on Monday 15th September, 2025. The fire personnel led by CFM Oladejo Kola swiftly responded and deployed to the scene of the fire incident. Upon arrival, it was two trucks, one loaded with grains (maize) and the other with unidentified chemicals collided with each other, engulfed by fire.

“The fire was completely extinguished and there was only one with chemical affected by fire while the second truck was saved by the fire service.

“Seven male persons were rescued alive with minor injuries and taken to Bowen Teaching Hospital by Officers of Federal Road Safety Corps Ogbomoso Division for medical attention.

“Vehicular movement has been restored back to the road and normal daily activities are in progress in the area”.
