EPL: Man Utd endure worst league start since 1992-93 after 3-0 derby defeat

Manchester United have made unwanted history after their 3-0 Premier League derby defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Phil Foden gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead in the first half at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland then scored a brace in the second half to seal victory against Ruben Amorim’s side.

The result leaves Manchester United in 14th position on the Premier League table after four matches.

However, according to OptaJoe, with four points from four games (W1 D1 L2), this is Manchester United’s poorest start to a league season since 1992-93, when they also had four points from their opening four matches under legendary manager Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United’s next match is against Chelsea next weekend at Old Trafford.
