President Mahama, the first gentleman of Ghana, threatened that bloggers and vloggers who do things anyhow would be dealt with.
The president made the statement while speaking with the media on Wednesday, September 10.
The president stated that the government has tolerated the new media for a very long time and thinks it is high time action was taken.
He noted that, ever since the emergence of the new media, the government has not found time to regulate it, hence, people do things anyhow.
According to him, plans are far advanced towards regulating the new media, however, even before that is done, the government wouldn’t sit nonchalantly and watch people continue spewing nonsense.
The president disclosed that the governemtn has now developed a technology where the IP number of a social media person could be used to trace them.
He revealed that, henceforth, any vlogger or blogger who misbehaves would be traced using their IP numbers, and dealt with.
