Former majority leader, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has eulogized former vice president, Dr. Bawumia, stating that he stands tall among all other vice presidents Ghana has had.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, the politician stated that the former vice president performed extremely well when former president, Akufo-Addo gave him a task during his term.
He said “Since then, the Vice President technically has no fixed constitutional duties unless the President assigns them. But recognizing Bawumia’s competence, President Akufo-Addo gave him space to operate and just look at the results”.
Comparing Dr. Bawumia to other former vice presidents, the former majority leader said “What separates him from past Vice Presidents is the sheer scale, vision, and impact of his work. These are not just ideas — they are results. He stands tall among all others”.
He noted that, even though President Mahama was labeled a lucky vice president, comparing him to Dr. Bawumia, the latter is better.
“Even Mahama, who claimed to be a lucky Vice President, didn’t achieve this. And respectfully, look at the performance of the late Amissah-Arthur. Bawumia, by his own competence and knowledge in economic management, has made an indelible mark”, he said.
He added that “His proposals to the Bank of Ghana and his digitalization agenda show the kind of visionary he is. He’s very creative, very competent, and clearly blessed by God. That’s why many of us are proud to follow him”.
