Police arrest two motorcycle snatchers, recover locally made revolver in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspected motorcycle snatchers, Ilyasu Hassan and Ibrahim Mohammed, in Suleja Local Government Area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, stated this in Minna, noting that the two suspects were apprehended after intelligence was received about their attempt to sell a stolen Bajaj motorcycle within Suleja.
“During interrogation, the suspects confessed that the motorcycle was stolen from Jere along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway,” Abiodun said.
He confirmed that the suspects have been arraigned in court for prosecution.
In a separate incident, he disclosed that on August 20, 2025, at about 9 pm, following credible information on criminal activity around Daza, police operatives of the Tactical Support Team stormed an isolated camp at Daza, via Kafin-Koro, Paikoro LGA.
He explained that immediately the police teams were sighted around the camp, two suspected hoodlums hiding there took to their heels and escaped.
According to him: “However, a search was carried out in the camp and one locally fabricated revolver gun was recovered.
“Surveillance and monitoring continues on the camp to arrest the fleeing hoodlums terrorising the area.”
