Security forces launch joint patrols after bandits sighted near Bwari–Kaduna border

Security operatives have stepped up anti-kidnapping patrols along the Bwari–Kaduna border following credible reports of bandit movement in the area.

The operation, led by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police Anti-Kidnapping Unit in collaboration with local hunters and vigilantes, was activated after armed men suspected to be bandits were sighted at Kweri Forest near Gidan Dogo in Kaduna State as reported by Zagazola Makama.

During the sweep, security teams combed suspected hideouts and routes used by the gunmen, while a fire drill was conducted in the forest to serve as a deterrent.

The Nigerian Army Guards Brigade has also been placed on high alert as intelligence efforts continue to track the suspected bandits, believed to be using the forest as a transit corridor to their camps in Kaduna State.
