Agu names three ex-Super Eagles players who inspired him to play for Nigeria

Super Eagles defender Felix Agu has named three Nigerian football legends who inspired him to represent the national team.
Agu spoke ahead of the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday.
When asked by Football Fans Tribe which Nigerian football icons motivated him as a young player, the Werder Bremen full-back mentioned Jay-Jay Okocha, Vincent Enyeama, and John Obi Mikel.
“Definitely Jay-Jay Okocha. I also always liked Vincent Enyeama and Obi Mikel,” the 25-year-old said.
“Definitely the most was captain William [Troost-Ekong] from the start, because we are very good friends. We used to play in the academy.”
Agu featured for Eric Chelle’s side during the Unity Cup tournament in London earlier this year.
