2026 WCQ: Nigeria in difficult situation now – Super Eagles midfielder, Dele-Bashiru

Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has admitted that Nigeria is now in a difficult situation amid the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria will face Rwanda and South Africa in the World Cup qualifiers on Saturday and Tuesday, respectively.

The two games will be crucial in determining if Nigeria will secure a ticket for next year’s World Cup.

Speaking to Ademola Victor TV, Dele-Bashiru said: “All the players, coaching staff and fans have the same expectations for these upcoming games of the World Cup qualifiers, and that is to win the games.

“We are in a difficult situation now, six points off the top but everyone knows what we need to do, and that is what we are going to work towards.

“We have got a few more players coming in today, so once the squad is complete, the work really starts, and I’m confident we will get the job done.”
