If I were him, I would be extremely suspicious – Adibe warns Obi on ADC coalition

Political science professor, Jideofor Adibe has urged Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential flagbearer, to approach the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition with caution as he prepares for the 2027 elections.
Adibe gave the advice while speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, just a day after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced that its 2027 presidential ticket would be zoned to the South.
“I wouldn’t want to advise Peter Obi; he has his own advisors. At the end, he has to make his own decisions, but if I were him, I would be extremely suspicious,” Adibe said.
Adibe described Obi as someone who does not take decisions at face value; he usually has an alternative plan in mind.
According to him, every political move requires careful thought.
He explained that it was Obi’s responsibility to listen to his political strategists and weigh their advice, noting that every major political announcement usually sets off different scenarios and calculations
The professor added that politics in Nigeria is unpredictable.
He likened the political situation to a chess game, saying outcomes are uncertain.
