Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said that former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi already knows he won’t get the ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, come 2027.
Wike was responding to the former Rivers Governor’s claim that he would defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Amaechi had in a recent interview declared it would be too easy for him to defeat Tinubu should he (Amaechi) win the ADC’s ticket in the primary.
Meanwhile, some political observers believe that Amaechi or any other serious minded politicians can beat Tinubu in the next general elections due to the current state of the economy.
Amaechi said he knows how to beat Tinubu but Wike wonders why he could not do so in the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary in 2022.
Amaechi lost the APC primary election in 2022, coming distant second to Tinubu who scored the highest votes at the Eagle Square.
In an interview on Channels on Tuesday, Wike said, “Amaechi knows he will not get the ticket of the ADC.
“I read that he said he knows the weakness of President Tinubu and how to defeat him, but he knew the weakness of Mr. President in 2022 when the President defeated him mercilessly in the primaries.”
