Operatives of the Anambra State security outfit captured in viral video assaulting a member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Jennifer Elobor have been arrested.
DAILY POST reports that the female corps member was seen in the disturbing video clip being tortured by the local security operatives.
It was gathered that the armed security officers had stormed the corps members’ lodge, accusing them of being internet fraudsters despite showing their identification cards and uniforms.
Jennifer was thoroughly beaten by the security officers until she was stripped despite her loud cry.
In reaction to the incident, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi said on Tuesday, that the offending operatives have been arrested and detained.
Emeakayi, who spoke when he appeared on Channels TV, said the incident occurred during a joint security operation when operatives of Agunechemba, the state security outfit pursued suspected cultists into a residential compound.
“The operatives were on the trail of some suspected cultists riding on motorcycles when they pursued them into a compound.
“In the process of searching the houses in line with their mandate, the unfortunate incident involving the corps member occurred.
“While they were acting within the law, their conduct in that instance was unacceptable,” he said.
