Voting commences amid mass turnout in Jigawa by-election

Voting has commenced for Garki/Babura Federal Constituency in Jigawa State amidst a mass turnout of voters.
DAILY POST observed that in most of the polling units visited in Garki and Babura Local Governments, election materials arrived early and voting commenced at 8:30 a.m. amidst tight security.
A voter at Islamiyya Primary 013 Garki polling unit, Hussaini Isah, told DAILY POST that the election officials arrived as early as 7:00 a.m. and commenced the accreditation process.
At Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area, the election commenced at exactly 8:00 a.m. with a massive turnout of electorates.
Malama Lami of 003 polling unit said she had cast her vote and was waiting for her vote to be counted.
“I am happy today to have exercised my civic right; the process was smooth, transparent, and peaceful.”
Some of the voters also expressed their satisfaction over the conduct of the electoral process.
