Osun 2026: Kunle Adegoke declares governorship ambition

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Kunle Adegoke, has announced his bid to contest the August 8, 2026, Osun State governorship election under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Adegoke, who previously vied for the APC ticket in the 2018 primaries, made his declaration at the party’s state secretariat in Osogbo on Monday.
Unveiling his agenda, the legal luminary pledged to place premium attention on the welfare of teachers and healthcare workers if elected.
“If I am given the party’s ticket and eventually elected governor, I will fight corruption vigorously and ensure that public resources are channelled towards serving the people, not a select privileged few,” Adegoke stated.
He also outlined plans for expansive infrastructure development, enhanced security, and the promotion of transparent, effective governance.
“The people of Osun deserve a government that is not only responsive but proactive; not just well-intentioned, but effective and visionary. A government capable of driving prosperity, creating wealth, and reducing dependence on federal allocations,” he stated.
