Benzema, Dembele don’t contribute to defence – Eden Hazard

Former Lille and Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has said his former teammate at Real Madrid, Karim Benzema, was not always contributing to defence activities at the club.
Hazard did not exempt himself from this, adding that he was also a culprit to leaving the defence porous.
Hazard was heavily criticised during his LaLiga career for his little or lack of contribution in defense.
Hazard said it was natural for good attackers to sabotage the defensive efforts of any team.
He used his former Real Madrid teammate, Benzema, as an example, adding that the Frenchman did not contribute to defence duties.
Hazard also said France and PSG attacker, Ousmane Dembele does not contribute much in defense.
Hazard said on Zack en Eoue Libre, “Good offensive players sometimes sabotage defensive efforts. I am one of them.
“I have played with Karim Benzema and I can tell you that he doesn’t always make all the physical efforts. Even Dembele doesn’t do it all the time.”
Hazard left Chelsea for Los Blancos in a bid worth about €100 millio in 2019.
He played only made 76 games in four years for Los Blancos before leaving the club in July 2023.
He retired three months after leaving Los Blancos.
