ADC: Amaechi not in calculation for 2027 presidential race, can’t win Rivers – Abejide


A member of the House of Representatives for Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, Leke Abejide, has said that former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi is not in the calculation for the 2027 presidential race.

He said members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, would be forced out of the party by the coalition leaders including Atiku Abubakar, Rauf Aregbesola, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, and Peter Obi.

According to Abejide, Amaechi would not even win Rivers State come to talk of other states in the presidential election, adding that he can only see Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as strong politicians who can pull the crowd .

The lawmaker, in an interview on Mic On, said that Amaechi is no longer a politician and has no political relevance at the moment.

“Amaechi is not a factor in the 2027 election; he can’t win in Rivers State,” he said.

“He’s not a politician now; he was just a politician before. We’re talking about people who can pull a crowd.

“You talk about Atiku; I agree. You can talk about Obi; I agree. Amaechi is out of the calculation.”
