I’m going with full house – Tension mounts as Sowore honours police summon

Popular activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore will be honouring a summon from the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit in Abuja on Wednesday, today.

The activist, who confirmed this to DAILY POST on Tuesday night said he will storm the Force Headquarters with other activists and freedom fighters.

Sowore said he will be “going with a full house”, calling on all “revolutionary comrades, citizens of conscience, voices of resistance” to join him.

DAILY POST reports that the police had in a letter dated August 5, invited Sowore for questioning following a petition on alleged forgery and criminal defamation.

Sowore had earlier written to the police unit requesting the content and the face behind the petition.

However, in response, the Monitoring Unit asked Sowore to appear in person for questioning, promising to disclose the petition at that time.

There are indications that a fresh protest may break out during the event.

In a post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Sowore declared that today will mark the commencement of the #EgbetokunMustGo campaign and the #PoliceProtest.
