PDS acknowledges London tribunal ruling, says lawyers reviewing decision in ECG dispute


Power Distribution Services Ghana Limited (PDS) has acknowledged the ruling of the London-based arbitration tribunal in its long-standing dispute with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, PDS said it respects the integrity of the arbitration process and confirmed that its legal team is currently reviewing the detailed decision to determine the next steps.
“PDS respects the integrity of the arbitration process and confirms that its lawyers are studying the detailed decision to advise on the next steps,” the statement read.
The company expressed pride in its contribution to Ghana’s power sector, highlighting operational and systems improvements introduced during its management of the national electricity distributor.
“PDS remains proud of its contribution to Ghana’s power sector, particularly the systems and operational improvements introduced during its management period,” it stated.
The company also commended the Government of Ghana and the ECG for their continued efforts to strengthen the energy sector and reaffirmed its belief in the importance of public–private partnerships for sustainable national development.
PDS extended appreciation to its staff, partners, and stakeholders for their professionalism and support throughout the arbitration process.
The statement reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Ghana’s long-term energy growth and collaboration with key sector players.
