Preseason: Arsenal get triple injury boost ahead of EPL opener vs Man Utd

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said Gabriel Magalhães, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber should all be available for the start of the new Premier League season.

The trio were unavailable for the 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly on Thursday.

Gabriel and Timber have not featured in any of the three fixtures the Gunners have played in Asia, having picked up injuries towards the end of last season.

After the game, Arteta was asked if they would be ready for the trip to Manchester United in their first league fixture on 17 August.

He replied: “I don’t think so. If they evolve like they’ve been involved in the last few days, so Gabriel Magalhães, Calafiori and Timber, the three of them will be available.”
