NSCDC arrests four suspected burglars in Ondo

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested four suspected burglars accused of breaking into homes and stealing valuables at the Peace and Joy community, situated off Airport Road in Oba Ile.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the arrests were triggered by a complaint from a resident who returned from church on Sunday, July 9, 2025, to discover her house burgled.
Following the report, NSCDC operatives deployed tracking technology on the SIM card of an Apple iPad stolen during the incident, which led to the arrest of the suspects. Those arrested were identified as 23-year-old student James Emmanuel Reuben, 19-year-old student Monday Reuben, 21-year-old farmer Japason Joshua from Gombe State, and 23-year-old farmer Lucas Joshua, also from Gombe State.
Aidamenbor explained that James Emmanuel, considered a “soft target,” cooperated with investigators and assisted in apprehending the other suspects. Based on legal advice, he has been granted bail while investigations continue.
Items recovered from the suspects included the stolen iPad, household appliances, food items, and clothing belonging to the complainant. Preliminary findings also revealed that the group had been linked to a series of similar break-ins in the area.
The Corps called on members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, noting that community involvement plays a crucial role in reducing crime across the state.
