2027: ‘He has earned himself another tenure’ – Ex-Abia Deputy Gov, Chukwu declares support for Otti’s re-election

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has held a closed-door meeting with the immediate past Deputy Governor of the State, Ude Oko Chukwu, signaling a realignment between the former Deputy Governor’s political structure in Abia North and Governor Alex Otti’s Labour Party.

Ude Oko Chukwu was the Deputy Governor to ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for eight years and was also a former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.

Speaking on his visit to Otti, the former deputy governor said he came to thank Otti for his administration’s efforts in infrastructure, the economy, and for cleaning up Abia cities of their previous environmental mess.

Oko Chukwu said his visit was not about politics or propaganda but to declare his support for Otti’s re-election.

“Going by what he has done so far, you will discover that, without mincing words, he has earned himself another tenure,” he said.

On whether he would join other opposition party members who are already in realignments with the governor’s Labour Party, the PDP chieftain, Oko Chukwu, said if he concludes on that, it would be made public.

“They are doing realignments. It is also likely that some of us will also join them in doing realignments.”
