Two arrested in Adamawa over threat to kidnap Song resident

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers.
The two are linked to an alleged threat to kidnap a resident of Song Local Government Area.
The Police Command said in a statement that it received a complaint from one Hassan Musa Dabutu of Song LGA who said he got threatening calls from an unknown subscriber.
In the statement signed by police image maker Suleiman Nguroje, the command said Dabutu complained that the subscriber told him he and his cohorts were coming to kidnap him unless he paid a certain amount of money.
The statement added that the police swung into action more so because Dabutu disclosed that his family had earlier suffered a series of kidnappings, when a total sum of ₦20,000,000.00 was paid as ransom to secure the release of such abducted family members.
“On the strength of that, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dakombo Morris, directed operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) to commence investigation,” Nguroje stated.
According to him, a 15-year-old suspect, Abdulraman Musa of Nguru, and Adamu Orte, a 60-year-old man from Machina, Yobe State, were arrested.
“Investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will be prosecuted upon completion of the investigation,” Nguroje assured.
