Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) have eliminated three notorious terrorist kingpins in a precision ambush in Sabon Birni Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State.
The operation, conducted on July 25 between Mallamawa and Mazau villages in the Tsamaye/Mai Lalle district, targeted and neutralised the wanted terrorists identified as Kachalla Nagomma, Gurmu, and Ali Yar Daribiyar.
According to Zagazola Makama, the militants were in the area to collect ransom payments and illegal levies from residents when they were intercepted by troops.
During the ambush, security forces recovered three AK-47 rifles with magazines and a motorcycle.
The success of the mission has sparked widespread relief and celebration among residents of Mai Lalle, Tsamaye, Rimaye, and surrounding communities across Sabon Birni and Goronyo LGAs.
“These terrorists have long tormented our communities with killings, kidnappings, and extortion. Their elimination is a major morale boost for everyone here,” a local source told Zagazola Makama.
The military confirmed that operations are being intensified in coordination with other security agencies and local vigilante groups in order to cripple the activities of armed bandit in the area
Citizens are urged to providie timely and credible intelligence to support ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.
