APC NEC appoints Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada as new National Chairman

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, as the new National Chairman of the ruling party.
Yiltwada’s appointment was made during the ongoing NEC meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, following the formal resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje from the position on June 27.
The nomination of Prof. Yiltwada was put forward by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and was promptly seconded by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
Yiltwada, a technocrat and academic, previously contested for the governorship of Plateau State under the APC and has served in various public service roles before his current ministerial position.
His appointment comes at a crucial time for the party as it gears up for internal restructuring and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The NEC meeting, which is still in progress, is expected to address key party issues, including zoning arrangements, membership drives, and preparations for upcoming off-cycle elections.
