A tragic accident along the R42 Meyerton-Heidelberg Road has claimed the lives of six family members returning from a funeral in KwaZulu-Natal.
The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, when the white Ford Focus they were travelling in collided with a truck.
The impact was fatal, leaving no survivors from the car.
The deceased were identified as David Khehla Malindi (68), Anna Malindi (61), Mhlanganisi Malindi (35), Phindile Malindi (33), Xolani Bocibo (27), and three-year-old Lwandle Malindi Tshabalala – all residents of Unitaspark, Vereeniging.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing grief and calling for urgent safety interventions on the accident-prone road.
On Saturday, July 19, the six were laid to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by family, friends, and neighbours, who came together to mourn their painful loss.
