FIFA Club World Cup: 'I got dizzy, fell down' - Enzo Fernandez laments dangerous US weather

Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, has cried out over what he described as the dangerous temperature in the United States of America where the FIFA Club World Cup is taking place.

He said it was dangerous to play in the high temperatures in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fluminense in the semifinals.

The Argentine midfielder spoke on Friday in a press conference ahead of the game, insisting the conditions were very tough to play in.

“The heat is incredible,” he said.

“The other day, I got a bit dizzy during a play and had to go down to the ground.

“Playing in this kind of temperature is very dangerous,” he added.

He said that not just the players but also the people who come to watch the game at the stadium.

He also noted that this has also affected the pace of the game, adding that it has slowed everything down.

FIFA has implemented cooling breaks midway through each half to allow the players a short rest from the intense heat.

Temperatures in the US have climbed up to 95°F (35°C).

The Blues are set to lock horns with Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup on Sunday.
