Upon the team’s return from the Club World Cup, just before the players dispersed, Modric retrieved a Real Madrid jersey from his luggage and presented it to Güler. The young Turkish player responded with a heartfelt hug of gratitude.
The 20-year-old talent, increasingly deployed as a central midfielder, started for Real Madrid during their US tour.
The 39-year-old Modric is departing on a free transfer, with AC Milan rumored to be his next destination.
