Liverpool forward, Luis Diaz has revealed how late team-mate, Diogo Jota helped him settle well at Anfield.
Diaz said he would never forget the nice gesture he received from the late Portuguese.
Speaking to WinSportsTV, the Colombia international said about Jota:
“It is very difficult to receive news like this, it is very sad.
“No one is prepared for this. He was a key companion when I arrived in Liverpool because his family welcomed me and we formed a great friendship. We had a healthy rivalry and it was important.”
“He made a very nice gesture towards me, which I will never forget.
“May he rest in peace, I have a great friend in my heart, who will always be remembered by his team.”
Jota died last Thursday alongside his brother Andre in a car accident in Spain.
He joined Liverpool from Premier League club Wolves in 2020, while Diaz moved to the Reds from Porto in 2022.
