Photos Of Diogo Jota’s Mother, Wife, And Grandfather Attending Footballer’s Wake

Rute Cardoso, the childhood lover of Jota, travelled with the remains of the two siblings to Portugal late last night and arrived in their home country today, July 4.
Diogo Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, along with the family of the late footballer, have been pictured attending the wake held at the São Cosme Chapel in Gondomar, Portugal.
Recall that Diogo Jota and his brother, Andrea Silva, died in a ghastly car accident in Spain while travelling to a jetty to catch a ferry heading to the United Kingdom on Thursday, July 3.
The two siblings were travelling in an acid green 200mph £180,000 Lamborghini Huracan when the tyre exploded before the car veered off the road and caught fire. They both died at the scene of the accident.

The remains were taken to Gondomar, the footballer’s hometown, for the wake.
Note that the town is some miles away from Porto, where Rute met with Jota during their teenage years. They started dating there before they officially got married eleven days ago after bearing three children.
Portugal’s Prime Minister, Luis Montenegro, and Diogo Jota’s agent, Jorge Mendes, were spotted at the wake. The siblings’ mother, Isabel, and their grandfather also attended the wake.
Diogo Jota, 28, and his younger brother, 26, will be laid to rest in their hometown on Saturday morning, July 5.
