My career in Europe over – Di Maria

Argentina World Cup winner, Ángel Di María, has announced that his career in Europe as a professional footballer is over.
The 37-year-old disclosed this in a lengthy post on his Instagram account on Wednesday.
We reported that this comes after Di María featured in Benfica’s Club World Cup defeat to Chelsea in the Round of 16 last weekend.
Di María, who is currently the top scorer in the ongoing Club World Cup, insisted that it’s time for him to return home.
“Today, it’s time to return home, my Europe career is over. After 18 years in Europe, it’s time to go home,” Di María said.
“Grateful to Benfica, Real Madrid, Man Utd, PSG, and Juventus. Thanks for the memories, lessons, and friendships.
“I leave fulfilled and proud. Farewell, Europe-what a journey it’s been.”
Di María previously played for clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Benfica.
